CURTIS CARRIKER, MDI was born in Lubbock, TX, and then grew up in the eastern suburbs of Dallas, TX, where I became the huge sports fan I am today by following the local pro teams. The Cowboys and Mavericks are my favorites. Due to my intense dislike of the color burnt orange, I wound up in Lubbock at Texas Tech University (Bob Knight's current home), where I received my Bachelor's of Science in Microbiology. During my undergrad years I met my beautiful and supportive wife, Salina, and we have been married 6 years as of 2007. I spent 3 years on indoor air research, plenty of time to decide medicine was the career for me. I also attended medical school at Texas Tech, where my exposure and interest in emergency medicine began. I am excited to join the Duke University EM program, and hope to find time to see the Duke Blue Devil basketball team in action. When not at the hospital, my wife and I occupy our time with our two dogs, and we also like to attend sporting events, try new restaurants, watch movies and spend time with friends and family.

ADAM CHANDLER, MDI was born in Little Rock, Arkansas and have lived there most of my life. I finished my undergraduate work at the University of Central Arkansas with a B.S. in Health Sciences and continued my education by earning an M.S. in Physical Therapy at the same university in 1999. I practiced as a Physical Therapist for a few years before deciding that I really wanted to become a physician. I began medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2003 and have not looked back. My interest include: kayaking, fly-fishing and most any outdoor activity. I have a wonderful wife named Ashley and a delightful 1 year old daughter named Brady. The opportunity to train in Emergency Medicine at Duke is tremendous and my family and I are thrilled to be moving to Durham.

CHAD COCHRAN, MDI was born and raised in the city Billings on the plains of beautiful Montana where most of my family still lives. At the age of 18 I left home to attend the University of Montana in Missoula. After one year there, I realized I was not yet ready for college. Instead I got a job working in a warehouse and traveled around the Western half of the US playing beach volleyball. I am an avid outdoorsman and enjoy fly fishing, hiking, camping and hunting. I also love to play basketball, baseball, golf, tennis, and racquetball. In 1999 I married my wonderful wife Suzie and we now have 4 children. I went back to college at the age of 26 and received a bS in Chemistry with an emphasis in biological chemistry from the University of Montana. We then packed up the family and moved to Seattle for medical school. Although we love the West, and Montana is our home, we were looking for a new cultural experience during residency and are ecstatic to be moving out to beautiful North Carolina to join the Duke Emergency Medicine family.
