Overview

Duke is an outstanding site for emergency medicine residency training.  Recognized in 2000 as the 125th ACGME accredited emergency medicine residency program, we have 24 current residents and will recruit eight interns for the 2008-2009 academic year.

The program has been developed at a top-notch medical center. The June 2006 US News & World Report ranked Duke University Medical Center as #5 overall in a list of top hospitals in the country. In June 2006, Duke University School of Medicine was listed #5 overall.  Our faculty is diverse and exceptional, including nationally acclaimed teachers, clinicians, and researchers.

Our residency program is three years in length with no previous postgraduate training required. Graduates from our program will be able to practice Emergency Medicine in any setting.  We are looking for individuals who are interested in the challenge of shaping the future of emergency medicine training at Duke University. We welcome all interested applicants.

If you have any questions, please contact the Residency Coordinator, Kim Brown at 919-681-2247 or via email at emresidency@mc.duke.edu.
