Ultrasound is fully integrated into the residency curriculum and clinical care at Duke.  Our division has two outstanding Sonosite® Micromaxx ultrasound units, each equipped with transvaginal, linear high-frequency (vascular or soft-tissue), transabdominal, and cardiac probes.  In addition, we have multiple Sonosite I-look portable units, ideal for central venous catheter placement and placement of deep peripheral catheters.  Our ultrasound training program is headed by a fellowship-trained emergency ultrasonography attending.
